Three suspects were arrested Friday evening by Vacaville Police after caught stealing hundreds of dollars in store merchandise from Vacaville Big Lots store.

As of March 19, Solano County Health officials issued a order that is currently in effect through April 7, for all individuals in the county to stay at their residence and only leave for essential things like grocery shopping due to Covid-19 coronavirus. Apparently, three suspects out of Sacramento and Citrus Heights decided to go on a spree and steal groceries.

The suspects 21-year-old Kayla Gipson of Sacramento, 20-year-old Cherridy Colter of Citrus Heights and 18-year-old Deonte Belle of Sacramento first filled their shopping carts with merchandise at Big Lots then fled the store with stolen merchandise in their truck.

An Big Lots employee captured the suspects' vehicle and license plates as they were leaving. The employee then provided details of the incident, suspects and vehicle to Vacaville Police Department.

After leaving Big Lots' with stolen merchandise, the suspects then emptied the bags that were initially used to steal and tried stealing from another Vacaville business, Walgreens on Alamo Drive. Vacaville Police located the suspects and their vehicle parked at Walgreens.

As Gipson, Colter, and Belle were exiting their vehicle getting ready to undoubtedly steal from Walgreens with empty bags in hand, they were detained by Vacaville Police and identified by witnesses as the wanted suspects responsible for theft at Big Lots.

According to Vacaville Police, all stolen goods totaling near $1200 was later returned to Big Lots.

Suspects Gipson, Colter, and Belle were all arrested and charged with burglary, conspiracy, and being in possession of stolen property.

Gipson and Colter faced an additional charge of probation violation after they were found to be on felony probation out of Sacramento County.

All three suspects were booked into Solano County Jail.
