Good evening everyone, I'm Robert Rincon. We begin with some breaking news out of Vacaville covering a scene of a motorcyclist who was hit and killed by a truck driver on October 30. On Tuesday October 30, a driver in a white SUV hit a motorcyclist on E.Monte Vista Ave. The driver did not stop and was gone before officers arrived, therefore this was a hit-and-run accident. The victim we know was 61 year old Richard Sauerwein. Paramedics arrived and tried reviving the victim by performing cpr but it was too late, he died on scene from his injuries. Richard was well known and loved by his Vacaville community as he dedicated more than 30 years of his life to Vacaville Unified School District, where he coached generations of kids. The kids he coached are now adults and have contacted his family as the story of him passing continues to spread. According to FOX40 News, Vacaville police have arrested 22 year old Miguel Gabriel Ramirez who is the suspected driver. Police were patrolling Callen street when they spotted the white SUV Ramirez was driving during the hit-and-run. Ramirez was booked into the Solano County Jail on charges of felony hit-n-run causing a fatality. As family members remember Richard, Richard's children shared their memories of their father. Richard's son named Bryan Sauerwein statef "He was just an amazing person and we didn't think we'd have to be doing this this early. He was only 61."
For those of you who would like to donate to the victim's family, They've created a GoFundMe page and here's the link https://www.gofundme.com/richard-sauerwein-memorial-fund. Rest in peace Richard, God bless you brother.Â
