ARSON FIRE SUSPECT ARRESTED IN VACAVILLE

On Sunday October 14th, an event center in Vacaville has been destroyed by flames and smoke. An place well known by the local community called Mission On The Hill was known for hosting weddings and holiday events. Sadly, a fire broke out early around 5 a.m on Sunday. When investigators first arrived on scene and saw how bad the damage was, they determined it was a suspicious cause. According to FOX40 News, "The outside of the events center looked relatively untouched but the inside was a different story. There was smoke damage throughout the building." "Crews from both Vacaville and Fairfield battled blaze which Dave Roth, the owner of the business, believed may have been started in a room after a window was broken" (THE REPORTER NEWS PAPER). This fire was a 2 alarm fire. Because it broke out at 5 a.m. when the business was closed, no injuries or deaths were reported. According to Vacaville Police, the suspect "Was identified from surveillance videos from the business. He was booked into Solano County Jail for arson." With the most recent update from Vacaville Police Facebook, the suspect responsible was 45 year old Terry Smith who was an Vacaville resident.

This fire has put a heavy impact on both the owner and community as everyone shared lots of memories and love here and the owner Dave Roth is now trying to find ways to pay for reconstruction and clearing of the damage to his business.
