Around 4 p.m on Friday August 27th, a 14 year old Vacaville girl was walking to a local park as she and her friend planned on meeting each other, and was hit by an oncoming vehicle that did not stop. According to FOX40 News "The 14-year-old walks along the Fern Way and Foothill Drive intersection every day." The teenager who didn't want to identify herself states she "Didn’t see any cars so I was like, 'OK cool,' crossed the road" (FOX40). Her recovery in the hospital has also brought an conclusion to her normal trip with skateboard in hand. As the girl has recalled "Car came out of nowhere and I was on the ground" (FOX40). According to Vacaville Pd, "We received a call about the hit-and-run around 4 p.m. on Monday. They say witnesses told police a car hit the teen and sped away." Police and witnesses states it was a gold Sedan that the driver was driving at the time. Vacaville Police Sgt. Nathan Benevides stated "From what I understand from the investigating officer is that it was a gold-colored sedan. What type of specific sedan I'm not sure of yet. But he’s been talking with neighbors in the area, trying to find surveillance cameras or anything that might have caught the vehicle leaving the area."

FOX40 wrote "There is no identifiable crosswalk at the intersection but police say pedestrians can still cross while using caution."

"Anywhere the intersection comes together like this, this would be considered an unmarked crosswalk," Benevides told reporters. "However, it doesn’t relieve a pedestrian with their due care" (FOX40).

The teenage victim and her family is now demanding answers hoping and praying that the suspected driver turns themselves in and that Vacaville Police can make an arrest regarding this case.

"I hope nothing like that happens to anyone ever," the victim said.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen the hit-and-run or who may have surveillance of the car driving away around 4 p.m. Monday to call them.

According to Vacaville Police as I spoke with them by phone, as of Saturday September 1st, no more tips or info has been given and no arrests has been made.

This teenager and her family are demanding answers, videos and tips.
