HIGH SPEED CHASE LEADS TO ARREST

Writer: Robert RinconRobert Rincon

Good morning everyone I'm Robert Rincon, we have some breaking news out of Vacaville that happened Friday afternoon involving a motorcycle leading officers on a high speed chase. It started Friday afternoon at 5:22 p.m when officers were originally going to just pull the driver over for speeding as he was driving 74 miles per hour while approaching Leisure Town. That's when officers then clocked the driver on radar later identified as 30-year-old Taylor Hansen of Vacaville.

The officer attempted to stop Hansen for the speeding violation by activating his overhead lights and siren like normal as he turned southbound onto Leisure Town Road. Suspected driver Hansen decided not to stop and led officers on a high speed chase. According to Vacaville PD, "Hansen attempted some quick maneuvering to lose the officers but what he failed to realize was that in addition to the distinguishing markings on his motorcycle and jacket as pictured below, we also have some pretty cool tools and partnerships that greatly assist us in these pursuits."

Thanks to the help of CHP air-support who was nearby and citizens giving officers anonymous tips at the time, Vacaville Police and CHP were able to locate Hansen as he fled into a general quiet area known as Anchorage Drive near Sawyer Drive.

Hansen ditched his motorcycle and fled on foot, which is when K9 units were called in. K9 dog Russell was used to sniff and try locating the suspect hiding. Hansen was tracked and found hiding in a nearby backyard where he was safely taken into custody with no force being used as stated by Vacaville PD.

According to officers, "Taylor Hansen was booked into Solano County Jail on a charge of felony evading and for violating the terms of his probation."
