WEST SACRAMENTO (Robert's Daily Report) — Shoppers and reward members in West Sacramento will have one less choice for groceries at the end of the month.

Safeway grocery chain announced it will be closing its West Sacramento location located on West Capitol Avenue by the end of the month.

The company said the closure is because "The store is underperforming and not meeting company goals."

The company is now working to re-locate employees from that store to other locations in the region.
