Alijondro E. Jones Jr., 23

An 18-year-old who was known by the name of Demetrious Ward has been shot and killed in 2014 over an ounce of marijuana.

A re-scheduling for sentencing has been ordered by a jury for 23 year old suspect Alijondro E. Jones Jr who briefly appeared in court on Friday and his defense attorney named Daniel Russo which the jury quote "found Jones guilty of first-degree murder" in September of 2017 (Daily Republic). Because of him having yet quote "to file a request for a new jury trial," judge Tim Kam has been asked by the defense attorney to postpone so that Russo quote "can file a request for a new jury trial" (Daily Republic).

The judge has now set April 13 2018 as the re-scheduled date for Alijondro's sentencing.

On the night of October 6th during the year 2014, Canyon Creek apartments in Vacaville is where the victim was lured by Kai M. Hughes who was the victim's longtime friend.

Ward and Hughes drove to Canyon Creek where Ward waited in his vehicle while Hughes who was considered his friend ended up meeting Jones and some of their friends.

Later, Jones, Hughes and all of their friends previously made an agreement deciding to rob Ward.

Jones walked out to Ward to purchase the marijuana while Ward was sitting patiently inside his vehicle. But instead, Jones broke the agreement and pulled a gun before the sale was complete.

Sadly, Ward was shot once in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene while waiting in the parking lot.

Thankfully his convicted killer will soon be arrested in April.
